Liqueur Mr Three & Bros Ginger Falernum 17° 500ml
Falernum was created in 19th century Barbados from rum, fruit and local spices, and was intended to be drunk on the rocks or to soften the rum of the time. Around the time of Prohibition in the Caribbean, Ernest Raymond Beaumont Gantt, better known as Don the Beachcomber, who developed the Tiki concept, started using Falernum in his drinks. When Prohibition ended and Dan returned home, his Tiki mixology was very successful, as was Falernum. Now, after years of experimentation, the team of Edoardo Nono and Rita&Cocktails in Milan, together with Memfi Baracco from Compagnia dei Caraibi, have created a Falernum that has not lost its original characteristics. Edoardo's craftsmanship has been combined with white Caribbean rum, demerara, ginger, spices, bitter almonds, limes and lemons, and sugar to create this Falernum. It is a cloudy yellow colour, dominated by citrus aromas and aromatic notes of bitter almonds, with an intense aroma of cloves when served over ice. The taste is clear and strong, sweet and silky, with strong spicy aromas and clove notes. On the finish there are bitter almonds, lemon and savoury ginger. In the mixology, the drink is unviersal, like a chameleon. Incomparable with Tiki, surprising in combinations with bitters and citrus distillates. Brings freshness and a hint of ginger to every drink. Alc. 17%. 500ml. From Calabria, Italy.
