The Cappelletti have been making Sfumato Rabarbaro for almost a century. The word Sfumato is derived from the Italian fumo, meaning 'smoke'. The profile of the drink harmoniously combines dark smokiness, subtly bitter mountain herbs and sweet notes of mountain berries. The main ingredient of amaro is the special medicinal rhubarb (rheum palmatum), which has been growing for many years in Italy. It has a mild flavour with sweet berries and bitter rhubarb and a long finish. Recommended to enjoy with tonic water, grapefruit soda water or whisky. Pairs well with grapefruit radler or stout.
