Since ancient times, various herbs have been used to cleanse the body and to make drinks to stimulate digestion. The herbs and spices contained in such drinks make them exceptionally bitter. The Mazzetti d'Altavilla distillery has reinterpreted an ancient recipe from the Benedictine monks who lived at the top of the hill in Altavilla Monferrato: Amaro Forte was created as an herbal concentrate in the Hortus Simplicium, the monks' old garden, where a wide range of aromatic and medicinal plants were grown, selected by the monks for the production of potions and various medicines. The most prominent notes in this amaro are those of liquorice, dandelion, quinine and peppermint. Alc. 35%. 700ml. From Piedmont, Italy.
