Grappa Marolo di Barolo Aged 10 Years in Sherry Casks 47° 700 ml
It is the fruit of years of effort, tasting and experimentation by the distillery team. Most importantly, it is the result of the distillery's dedication to long maturation and the constant pursuit of creating innovative grappas.
“The idea of using sherry casks comes from the whisky world,” says Lorenzo Marolo. "We believe in the power of our Barolo grappa to unfold in an elegant and complex way, without losing its identity resting in a wood barrel. Our aim remains to create grappas that reveal the uniqueness of the land in a special way."
After being casked in 2012, the new Marolo grappa began its long journey. It has been aged for 10 years in Spanish barrels formerly used for Oloroso Sherry, a dry and bright strong wine with little residual sugar and notes of dried fruit. It is a rare grappa for meditation. The sherry cask promises strong sensations. A special version of the Barolo grappa that seeks to raise the standard of quality and expand the horizons of tasting and matching. Captivating from the first sip, gradually unfolding with warm, silky sensations. The complex and captivating Barolo grape, matured in sherry casks, masterfully balances the strength and indescribable smoothness of the Barolo. Notes of dark fruits mingle with spices, aromas of dried fruits intertwine with chocolate and tobacco.
Perfect for meditation or at the end of a meal, the grappa pairs well with dried fruits, chocolate and aged cheeses. Notes of ripe red fruits invite you to enjoy it with a good cigar.
The grappa rests in a special luxury: a decanter-style bottle decorated with gold, a lacquered oak box, also decorated with gold. A luxury product for true enthusiasts. Grape variety: Nebbiolo from Barolo. 1635 bottles were produced.
